Poor Grandma

My 87 yr. old grandma is unfortunately enough in the ICU tonight with Gallstone problems.  Gallstone are not usually a big deal but considering her age its a very stressing situation.  Also, one of the stones is causing a blockage and she is getting poisoned by her own body.  It may be so bad that her entire Gallblader may have to be removed.  I have been in the hospital numerous times so I am not scared of going like some people but lets be honest, no one likes going to the hospital.  I will be visiting after I get done with work tomorrow.  Hopefully her procedure will go well and by the time I get there she will be feeling a bit better.  If not then I will just wait until Saturday and visit her then.  This is a very stressful situation for me.  I haven't been feeling well myself and my parents don't want me to go to the hospital at all.  Obviously my parents don't rule my life but I understand their concern.  All hospitals house what is called "super germs".  These are basically germs that are resistant to antibiotics and can be lethal to those with compromised immune systems.  So when I go to the hospital I will have to suit up like I am going into surgery.  I will be wearing a face mask and gloves and as soon as I leave I am going to run hand sanitizer all over my arms, hands and on the bottom of my shoes.  Plus I'm going to change my clothes as soon as I get home.  Crazy, maybe but you have no idea how bad it can be when I get an infection.  My life literally stops.  So lets all keep my grandma Sadie in your thoughts and prayers.

  1. Oddly enough, my aunt was in the hospital last weekend and had to have her gallbladder removed too. I hope YOU and your grandma and feel better soon! Happy 4th!
