Disappointment

This weekend I was really disappointed at my friends. I invite over 100 people to come to the charity event for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation and not one person showed up. A few of my friends were out of town so that is a totally understandable excuse. One or two of my friends had to work but for the most part people just didn't show up. I know everyone is busy with their own things going on but come on guys. Don't think this means I am giving up. I will continue to invite everyone and hope that eventually people will start showing up.

If you would like to donate to the foundation you can do this by following the link www.ccfa.org.

Hey guys! Just wanted to remind you all of the charity event benefiting the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation tomorrow at Lucky's Pub. It begins at 10 a.m. and goes on until 3 p.m. It is only a $20 donation to participate and all donations will be matched so your donation counts twice as much. It should be a fun event. Who doesn't like playing Wii Bowling? Please email me if you have any questions or would like more info on donating if you can't attend the actual event.

Sawyer Park

Last night I hit up a new place on Washington called Sawyer Park. I really enjoyed myself. It is a two story bar with the second story opening up to an large patio that overlooks the downtown Houston skyline. Its not a club or just a sports bar but a well-oiled hybrid. Each area had a few flat screen tv's showing the Astro's game. It was a bit hot to be outside last night but I suffered through it due to the large amount of hot guys surrounding me. Hahaha. But seriously I met a group of pilots and spent the rest of my time chatting with them. Overall the crowd looked a bit young. Most of the people looked in their low to mid 20's, which isn't too bad. I did detect a bit of a fratty feel but that also might be due to the fact that it was early on a Wednesday night.

P.S. for those of you who are unfamiliar with the term "fratty" please let me enlighten you. My definition of "Fratty" is when something reminds me of my college days of hanging around with fraternity boys. Examples of Frattiness include chanting, chugging and horsing around. Even if you were never part of a fraternity or sorority I'm sure you have come across some form of frattiness.

Overall I give this new place an B+. Pluses include decent crowd, not ghetto, strong drinks and great view. Negatives include horrible valet parking assistance, lack of free parking and mild fratty feel. Fans of Sawyer Park sound off. Email me with any other info or comments.

V Bar in the Venetian

Saturday night our group went to V Bar in the Venetian. Great name, lame club. The pros of this club are cheap bottles and good bottle service. The atmosphere was average, nothing special for Vegas. The bad part was the DJ and the music. I requested a number of fun songs and was rudely turned down without a second thought. Boo. Apparently at this bar the DJ only plays songs that have corresponding music videos. So it was basically a bad version of MTV's Total Request Live without the requests. It was a major let down after the awesome experience we had at the Palms. Even thought it wasn't as good as the first night Vegas has an undeniable vibe that allows you to have fun regardless of your surroundings.

Palms Hotel

On the first night out in Vegas our group had bottle service at the Palms. We went through 4 bottles of Grey Goose and had a waitress who stayed at our table the entire time we were there. Lucky for us our bottles were complements of the Palms otherwise we would be facing a $3000 bar tab. Yikes! Nobody wants to see that at the end of the night. I have to give the Palms and A+ for the club all around. The service was great and so was the music. I don't think I stopped dancing the entire night. During the night I took some time and looked around and really took the entire atmosphere in. I turn around in our booth and look out and see a million little lights. It was beautiful. Then I look up to see the roof has been opened. It was awesome. I highly recommend going to the Palms for their clubs. They were outstanding.

Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Casino

I stayed at the Wynn during the first few days I was in Vegas and absolutely loved it. The room was extremely large. It was basically two basic hotel rooms combined into one. Not only was the sleeping area luxurious but the bathroom was also oversized. The bedroom featured a large flatscreen t.v., comfortable beds and remote controlled curtains. Yes people, remote controlled curtains. Its great to not have to get out of bed in order to open the curtains. At night you could look out from your window and see an unobstructed view of the mountains. It is incredible view at night. I also really loved the bathrooms. The bathroom featured a deep garden tub and a glass shower all encased in marble. There was also an unusually large vanity that featured two sinks and a vanity area in the middle. I love vanity's because I sit at one everyday at home with a lighted makeup mirror. It literally made me feel right at home, well, except for the massive amount of marble. Haha. The casino was always hoppin' and there were a number of cafe's and restaurants surrounding the elevators that took you to your room, which is great when you are fighting a hangover. The food was very expensive but that is something you expect at such a high end resort. Overall I would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Vegas.

Vita's Revelations

When you feel lonely do you think that you are choosing to be in a state of loneliness or does it choose you?

Bottom line...... Being alone sucks!

The Gallant Knight

Last night a group of my friends and I went to the new Gallant Knight. For those of you who haven't been there, you are seriously missing out. The Gallant Knight is a old club that just re-opened. It is now located on Bissonett right off Kirby. They play live music on Friday nights. Usually the bands are 60's, 70's, and 80's cover bands. The band that played last night was called Skyrocket and they are incredible. Its not a trendy atmosphere at all, so don't worry about douchey doormen who only let so many people in and all that crap. I had such a great time there with my friends that I am thinking of having my birthday there in December. My friends and I have such a wonderful time everytime we have ever gone there. If you don't believe me then check out the pic above!
