Today I woke up in a lot of pain. For those of you who have been following my blog know I have Crohn's Disease. With any chronic illness you never know when you are going to have a bad day. Unfortunately enough, today was one of those days. I woke up with a searing pain in my lower abdomen. Yuck! So I called the doctor's office first thing this morning to schedule an appointment and found out that my doctor only sees patients on Mondays from 8 to 12. Ridiculous! So now I am sitting by my phone waiting for the nurse to call me back to see if he can squeeze me into the very small time block. Uh! I will keep everyone updated on what goes on.
P.S. If you are interested in learning more about Crohn's Disease please visit www.ccfa.org. It is the address to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation website. It is a great resource for people who have just been diagnosed or know someone who has the condition.

Britney, Britney, Britney!
I am so excited! I just bought tickets to the Britney Spears Concert! I wanted to go the first time around but I couldn't get tickets. I guess its kind of good that I had to wait because this way all of the kinks should be worked out from the first time around. I just can't believe I have to wait until the fall to see her. Oh well, it will be worth the wait.

He's Just Not That Into You
So I just saw the movie " He's Just Not That Into You" and totally loved it. Before I saw the movie I posted that I was about to watch it on my Facebook page. Throughout the time I was watching the movie a number of people commented on my status. It was really funny how all the guys that commented said that they thought it was a terrible movie while all of the women really liked the movie. Either there are a lot of bored people on Facebook tonight or this movie really made an impact, positive or negative, on a lot of people. I think this just reinforces how different women and men think about things especially when it comes to relationships.

Why Parents Should Not be Allowed on Facebook
I have decided that parents should not be allowed on Facebook. My Dad is completely cut off. I understand that social networking is for everyone but as an adult I don't think that I should be subject to personal scolding from my Father via Facebook. Number one, I hate being censored in any situation. We live in a country where people have freedom of speech and I am one of those people who like to exercise my freedoms to the fullest extent hence the fact that I am writing a blog. There is nothing that makes me more angry than someone telling me that I can't have something. Its so opressive. So, after this posting I will be deleting my father from my Facebook profile and not adding him back. My profile is set to the strictest form of privacy because I want to be able to post whatever I want and not have to worry about employers see me doing or saying something silly. Parents, its time to cut the cord. Trying to censor your adult children is probably the worst thing you could do. There is so much crap for us to deal with in the world today just consider this a small gift to your children. Or in other words, just get a life of your own.

Elaine Turner
Today I attended a sorority alumna event at Elaine Turner in the Rice Village. It is a super cute store that is very feminine. I really like the fact that they had quality products at a reasonable price. They mostly sell accessories but they do have a small selection of clothing items consisting mostly of dresses. They are having a huge sale right now so if you have a chance check it out. I purchases a pair of sparkly gold flats to replace my other gold flats that fell apart. I will be getting the other shoes fixed but until then I am set. To the party I wore a gold, sixties inspired Marc Jacobs dress and gold Gucci Sandals. Needless to say I was very sparkly. I also saw my hair stylist Rico today at Saks in the Galleria for a trim. He gave me a sixties inspired hair style to complement my dress. He is a great hair stylist. I have been going to him since 2004 and he is super easy to work with. He is a master at hair extensions. I was planning on getting my makeup done at Neimans by Roya at the Chanel counter but I ran out of time. Luckily I had my trusty cosmetic bag with me so I was able to do my own makeup at the last minute.
The party was great. It gave me a chance to catch up with all the girls that I haven't seen in awhile. I really love my alumni organization. Its amazing how the group ranges in age from 22 all the way to 84 and everybody has a great time. I have met so many incredible women through this group and I always look forward to going to the meetings. Its nice to be a part of such a wonderfully positive organization. It really brings a lot of joy to my life.
